What Should I do After High School?

For some of you high school has been an amazing experience full of good friends, epic parties and, hopefully, some useful education! For others, its has been a struggle. Maybe you’ve experienced bullying, struggled academically or just felt like you don’t fit in.

Regardless of your high school experience the end of grade 12 signifies the impending next stage…..your debut into the “real world.” Now it’s up to you to decide what to do.

How to Spread Christmas Cheer Without Breaking the Bank

Christmas is my favourite time of year. It always has been.

I love almost everything about this holiday. To me Christmas represents a time to be merry. It’s a time to get together with the people I love, cook, eat too much, drink too much, cuddle up by the fire, watch a Christmas movie, eat some more, drink some more….

The things that aren’t so lovable about the holiday…the inevitable tummy ache from over eating, a likely hang over from one too many drinks and a frighting credit card bill that will arrive in January just in time to intensify the post-holiday blues.

6 Things to Consider When Applying to Grad School

Grad school can suck the life out of you.

Sure, it seems like a good idea in theory I mean, you can never go wrong with more education…right!!

I don’t regret going to grad school, I can say that now because I’m done. By grade nine I had at least 10 families in my community vying for my time on a Friday or Saturday night. I’m not going to lie, the babysitting gig wasn’t great for my social life, but I was willing to sacrifice a night with my friends for a handful of cash.

How I Graduated DEBT FREE After a Decade of University!!

After 10 years of university, and extensive international travel, I emerged from school with three degrees and no debt.

How did I do it?

First, I should acknowledge that I was lucky enough to live at home for the first four years of post secondary. So, I didn’t have to pay for rent or food.

In order to pay for everything else I worked two days a week at a pie shop and three times a week at a gym. The money wasn’t great but at least I got a free gym membership, which was a good thing….I was eating a lot of pie!!!

Hello Blogging World!

Hello blogging world….I feel like I’m a little late to the blogging party.

Nonetheless, I present to you my inaugural blog post!!

A little bit about me….

I am super interested in everything related to personal finance.

I have been wanting to start a blog for a long time but have found a number of reasons to procrastinate (mainly a fear of putting myself out there, lack of time, feeling like there are already too many personal finance blogs etc etc.)
